On April 17, 2007, the creative music ensemble Ne(x)tworks celebrates both the release of Tracer, a new CD/DVD on MODE Records, and the 80th birthday of the revered American composer Earle Brown with a full program of chamber works at Chelsea Art Museum (CAM). The program, entitled An Earle Brown Retrospective, will highlight Ne(x)tworks' singular approach to Brown's music in various combinations ranging from solo to the full ensemble.

Taking place in CAM's spacious third floor gallery, Ne(x)tworks' program demonstrates the amazing depth of Brown's work - from his early serialist phase (including the rarely played Music for Violin, Cello, and Piano), to the paradigm-shifting graphic and open form scores of the 1950's and beyond.

The performers will contextualize this important work with interstitial commentary that then continues as informal discussion with the audience during a complimentary post- concert wine and cheese reception.

Joan La Barbara - Voice
Kenji Bunch - Viola
Shelley Burgon - Harp/Elec.
Yves Dharamraj - Cello
Cornelius Dufallo - Violin
Miguel Frasconi - Glass Instr./Elec.
Stephen Gosling - Piano
Ariana Kim - Violin
Chris McIntyre - Trombone/Elec.

Ne(x)tworks is a collaborative ensemble of musicians creating and interpreting work that features a dynamic relationship between composition and improvisation. In performance and recordings, the group locates pathways into various types of notation systems and interfaces, striving for a meaningful dialogue with the past, present, and future of creative music.
